Susan F. Zinder Biography

For more than twenty-five years, clients have relied on Susan for practical and strategic guidance at the points where law and business intersect, particularly in the areas of healthcare and not-for-profit law.

Susan F. Zinder, Esq.
As a former General Counsel, I am intimately familiar with the factors that contribute to my clients’ success. My perspective is informed by countless hours working with governing boards, senior management teams and individuals to create effective legal solutions to their challenges so they can seize their opportunities.

Throughout my career, I have advised client teams on a wide range of essential issues, including strategic contracts and affiliations, regulatory citations and plans of correction, organizational culture and daily operations. I have crafted employment contracts, professional services agreements and severance agreements for healthcare executives and providers from the point of view of employers, employees and independent contractors. My guidance has strengthened the functioning of the leadership and governing bodies of her clients. I have led the negotiation and implementation of numerous IT contracts and financing agreements. One of my key concerns has been helping my clients create effective cultures of compliance. I have done this through clear education, drafting and implementation of various compliance programs and plans.

I began my career as a corporate/banking associate at the national law firm Winston & Strawn where I represented borrowers in their strategic needs through both taxable and tax-exempt financings, lenders in a variety of lending transactions and businesses in their strategic mergers and acquisitions. I also drafted compliance plans for lenders and assisted in their implementation.

Currently, I contribute my expertise as a national board member of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, where I am Vice Chair of its governance and fundraising committees. As Vice Chair of the Business Law and Governance Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association I help healthcare lawyers across the country provide their clients with knowledgeable solutions to their pressing problems.

In my spare time I am an avid photographer, ceramicist and quilter with a love for travel. All of the photographs shown on the website (other than portraits of me) are my own work.
